HEALTHY HIGH STREETS SUPPORTS NATIONAL AUTISTIC SOCIETY WREXHAM BRANCH
The four large corporate organisations behind Wrexham’s Healthy High Streets campaign (The Co-operative, Santander, Boots and M&S) are working with the National Autistic Society Wrexham Branch to raise money to provide sports opportunities for children with autism in Wrexham and their families. And they would love other businesses, organisations and individuals in the town to join in and help raise as much money as possible for this really important cause.
The Wrexham Branch of the National Autistic Society will use all funds raised to set up sporting activities for local children with autism and their families working with local sports delivery partners as part of the Active for Autism campaign.
Physical exercise is good for everyone but for autistic children it is even more important in:
- Reducing self-harming, and overactive behaviour
- Helping manage weight and health complications
- Improving sociability and self-esteem
- Establishing a positive routine
- Improving attention in school
How will the money be used?
We are aiming to raise as much money as possible over a four week period to provide sports opportunities for autistic children in the Wrexham area and their families. The money raised will all be used locally.
