I am taking part in the Kiltwalk this year to raise money for Grampians Womans Aid.

This is to say thank you for the support they gave myself and my daughter, aged 10 at the time...

For 6 years I was physically and mentally abused by an ex partner, whilst hiding this from my family. In January 2022 I was abused for the last time, I went to the police with over 80 photographs, bruises on my body and a perforated ear drum. I had to sit and go through everything from the past 6 years in detail, had to be forensically examined and photographed. I was then sent home and the mental abuse continued for the next few weeks until he was arrested and remanded. In July 2022 he was up in court and the judge set a non harrassment order on myself and my daughter for 10 years.

Due to this Grampian Womans Aid got in touch and started to support myself and my daughter, by one to one visits with the both of us, and working with my daughter in and out of school, helping her understand her emotions, healthy relationships, try make sense of everything that happened and how to deal with things in the future.

I will forever be grateful for their help and support, along with the difference they made in both of our lives. So this is one way of showing my appreciation and help them continue to support other woman and children throughout the region.
