Story
So, I am now running the London Marathon 2010. Yes I know, apparently I will have to train for this one!
First of all, I am pleading for money! I am raising money for Salisbury Hospice which is a fantastic hospice where my mother was before she died. My mother, Rosemary Janette Webb died 8 years ago from secondary breast cancer and was in the hospice for 3 weeks. They let us bring Warrior (the shire horse) into her room so that she could say goodbye and let me stay every night with my dog (Batty the labrador) by my side!
I was 18 at the time, and not only did they look after my mother but they also looked after me. I managed to get tonsillitis and they sent me to the hospital doctor to get some antibiotics and then eventually have my tonsils out!
After my mother died, I received some cards from the hospice, sending their condolences and offering their support. I received an amazing card from the nurse who looked after my mother, incredibly reassuring and telling me things my mother had said during her stay there.
Anyway, I want to run this awfully long way for a place that is special and needs as much money as they can to keep offering such support, dedication and happiness to people that haven't got long to live. I feel it is a worthy cause and hopefully from all this rambling (I've gone on long enough!) you will too!
On another note, I have recently been diagnosed with cervical and endometrial cancer. Rather inconvenient for marathon training I know but i intend to carry on with it as I have even more of a reason to raise money for the hospice now, just incase!
Dig deep if you can! I'm going to to get round no matter what!
THANK YOU!!
