Story
Hi folks,
Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.
On the 6th September 2009 we will be hanging up our high heels and donning our trainers to take part in the Bristol half marathon. This is a daunting task for 2 girls who spent most of their 20's being highly athletically challenged! However we are taking it very seriously with gruelling 6.30am training sessions (go on Caroline Rose!), lunchtime hill runs and sacrificing more than one night out in order to be on form for a long run the next morning! We anticipate some seriously sore feet but we will give it our best shot, all in the name of a good cause.
Our charity of choice is Cancer Research and it needs no introduction. Most people will unfortunately know someone who has cancer or who may have lost their battle. We will run in the memory of Liam Shelly who sadly passed away in 2007 and Mary Ryan who passed away in 1999. We hope that we can contribute in some small way to this fantastic charity and lend some support to the wonderful people who work tirelessly to find a cure and to make patients lives more comfortable.
So seriously, any donation however tiny will be graciously received and will make our efforts worthwhile! Your money will go directly to cancer research. Please don't forget to gift-aid your donation as the charity can claim some money back from the taxman and it doesn't cost you any extra pennies.
Thanks so much for your support,
Ann and Caroline
