Story

This year I have decided to challenge myself to run Royal Parks Half Marathon and raise funds for Learning Disability Network (LDN) London.

I got inspired to start running after supporting a young woman with learning disability to attend an exercise session with her personal trainer. Her progress and determination on the treadmill was impressive and inspired me to push myself and try out running. I was surprised to learn that I loved it. It is now time for me to take on a challenge and I hope to raise some money so more people with learning disabilities can be given opportunities to grow, build skills and live meaningful lives.

LDN London work to create a more fair and inclusive London for learning disabled and autistic children and adults. The money raised will go to support the LDN Community Hub and the LDN Family Support Team.

LDN Community Hub provides a space where people can socialise and take part in a number of activities, workshops and events for learning disabled and autistic people. This is aimed towards helping to grow vital life skills, develop confidence and give people a chance to have a say and be involved in their local community.

The Family Support Team run workshops and provide emotional and practical support for parents and carers of children with SEND.

Thank you in advance for helping LDN to be there for people with learning disabilities. With your support more work can be done to help people achieve their goals and change society's ideas about learning disabilities.
