Story
In 2022, our mother, Kameswari Anantharaman, lost her five-year battle against ovarian cancer. At several times during those five years, she was in the care of doctors in the Oncology Department at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Jersey, as well as other specialists attending to her medical needs.
But during the most challenging days, it was the nursing staff members in the Oncology Department who delivered the compassionate, hands-on care that lifted her spirits and alleviated her suffering. They were there for our mother, and for all of us, as we celebrated her progress, and as we ultimately came to terms with her prognosis.
To honor our mother’s memory, and the many Saint Peter’s nurses who cared for her, we established The Anantharaman Family Fund for Oncology Nurses. We invite you to join us in this tribute with a donation to the fund.
Contributions to the fund will go toward:
Grants to support continuing education or professional development for oncology nurses and nursing staff.
Awards to recognize oncology nursing staff members who demonstrate compassion for patients and their families.
Awards to recognize oncology nursing staff members who go beyond the call of professional duty on behalf of their patients.
To contribute to the fund, use the Give Now button on this page.
Or you may send a check payable to the Saint Peter's Foundation, and write “Anantharaman Family Fund” on the memo line. Checks may be mailed to:
