Story

* Thank you! * - Thank you for your kind donations that enabled us to obtain the second emergency kit to respond to 999 ambulance calls in the Sawston & Shelford areas. We are now fundraising to source essential live-saving training equipment for the Basic Life Support training courses we run for the public. Can you help? Please see more details below.

* What we do * - When a loved one needs an ambulance, it's natural to feel anxious and worried. Questions like "What's wrong? Will they be ok? How long will the ambulance take to arrive?" can race through your mind, making even a short wait feel like an eternity.

We are the Community First Responders Group responding to 999 calls on behalf of the East of England Ambulance Service in the Sawston and Shelford areas. We are a friendly and enthusiastic team living and working locally. We are fully trained to provide emergency care and volunteer our time to help people in our community in the time when they need this the most.

* How you can help educate the public on Basic Life Support * - Our CFR team members are trained to run Basic Life Support training for the public of all ages: from nurseries and schools to business and senior community groups. We are volunteers and supported by charitable funds donated to the East of England Ambulance Charity.

For us to run the training courses for the public, we need training equipment. i.e. resus dummies, training defibrillators, pads, choking vests, batteries, bags, handouts, etc. Your donations will enable this potentially life-saving training to become self-sufficient.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
