Story

Do you recall that time dialling 999 for an ambulance feeling vulnerable and desperate for help for yourself or your loved ones? Do you remember how waiting for the ambulance seemed to take ages and that feeling of relief and hope when the help arrives?

We are the Community First Responders Group responding to 999 calls on behalf of the East of England Ambulance Service in the Sawston and Shelford areas. We are a friendly and enthusiastic team living and working locally.

We are fully trained to provide emergency care and volunteer our time to help people in our community in the time when they need this the most.

Being a charity, we need to raise funds for life-saving equipment such as defibrillators for immediate access, medical kit, oxygen and emergency lifting chairs, so we could continue supporting members of our community in a health emergency.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

Working with the East of England Ambulance Service, the charity supports local ambulance stations and other healthcare initiatives. The charity also serves the Community First Responder (CFR) groups in east of England region. Local CFR volunteers are trained in first on scene lifesaving skills.
