Ali's 3 Mile Swimathon for Cancer Research

Swimathon 2018 · 27 April 2018 to 29 April 2018 ·
Almost everyone I know has been affected by cancer at some stage or another. Whether they have lost someone they love, or they have fought cancer themselves or have friends and family who are currently battling against this bully of a disease. My own darling Dad passed away 5 years ago from cancer and it devastated all of us.
I took up swimming again about 6 months ago and I try to swim a mile almost everyday apart from when I'm really hungover. Anyway I saw that this excellent Swimathon was taking place for Cancer Research so I figured '5K? In one session? 3 miles? I can do that - surely?!' so there we go. I can't run, I don't really want to hurl myself out of a plane or abseil down Battersea Power Station again (I did that in 2012 and pretty much cried all the way down) so I figured this would be a fine and challenging way to raise some money for a fab cause.
I'd appreciate it SO much if you can sponsor me - it doesn't matter how much, even a couple of quid would make such a difference. Thank you! xxx
