Story

In 2015 along with my friends I climbed my first mountain, Mount Rinjani in Indonesia with a summit of 3,726 metres; this was the climb that started my love for mountaineering. Growing up, I unfortunately suffered with a lot of anxiety and felt that mountaineering cured this for me, as it gave me something to aim for and achieve! Since then I have ticked a few mountains of my bucket list, including the ‘Three Peaks’ of the UK, summited Mount Ngauruhoe in New Zealand (1,886 metres), climbed to the base camp of Mount Everest in Nepal (5,364 metres) and now I am going to try and conquer Mount Kilimanjaro, with a summit of 5,895 metres, which will be my highest climb to date.

Whilst taking on my new challenge, I wanted to raise money for charity, donating equal amounts to Havens’ Hospice and The Blue Ribbon Foundation. Both charities are close to me, Haven’s Hospice cared for my Nan when she diagnosed with terminal cancer and supported her at the end of her life. The Blue Ribbon Foundation strives to raise awareness of Men’s mental health and wellbeing. Having personally dealt with anxiety I believe that this is something that should be more openly spoken about, breaking the taboo surrounding Men’s Mental Health.

Please support me as I take on my new challenge and donate to these great causes!

About the charity

We want to raise awareness of male health issues. We want to gently persuade men to be more open and talk about health problems that may be concerning them. We want them to be aware of the 'male habits' that get in the way of change. We want to support other male health charities in their work.
