Story
Oct 2008.
Now that my feet are back on even land and I have arrived back in England safe and sound (just about), I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you for you continuing support and generous donations.
29 participants (2 Marie Curie reps, 1 doctor and 3 guides) took part in the trek. As a group we have made just over £70.000 and all of this money will go directly to the Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead refurbishment
Unfortunately I was unable to make it to the summit of mount Toubkal due to altitude sickness, however I undertook numerous personal challenges along the way and managed to trek to over 3500 meters. This was a great personal challenge for me, as six months ago I got breathless walking to the end of the road; I have also given up smoking and over come my fear of heights. Not forgetting reaching and going beyond my fundraising target.
I also undertook the trek for professional reasons. As you know I have worked for Marie Curie at the Hampstead Hospice for over five years now and I saw this as a perfect opportunity to give something back to the hospice, and this trek in particular appealed to me as all the money raised goes directly to the Hampstead hospice and not into the big Marie Curie pot.
Thanks again for your support.
