Set up by AFC Wimbledon fans with a trestle table and a signboard outside Morrisons supermarket in Wimbledon at the very beginning of lockdown, DLAG grew rapidly in the following days and weeks, joined by hundreds of fans and non-fans alike. We have so far provided over 23,000 one-week food parcels across the boroughs of Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston. With more than 90 aid agencies making referrals, we are feeding people in food poverty who find themselves without any alternative solution.
We have also founded Keep Kids Connected. KKC donates re-conditioned laptops to schools for pupils without access to this essential learning tool to access online resources and further their studies.
The end of lockdown is not the end for DLAG. As we return to normality, we continue to find ways to support those in need in our community. Now with over 1,400 volunteers, DLAG has brought local communities together across South-West London and is changing lives for the better.
