Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On September 27 Armenians woke up to a war. Azerbaijan with direct support from Turkey attacked Artsakh - Nagorno Karabakh that has largely been in peace since 1994. This was a planned attack by Azerbaijan and Turkey who have recruited over 4000 Syrian and Libyan jihadists as mercenaries and provided weapons. They are using heavy artillery and airplanes to strike civilians and civilian infrastructure including churches, maternity and other hospitals, kindergardens and schools indiscriminately. Internationally banned cluster bombs have been used striking cities. Cities that had been rebuilt for 25 years have now been destroyed by heavy shelling for 30 days.

This situation is a humanitarian catastrophe in the midst of the global COVID pandemic. Against all calls for peace the aggression continues with no end in sight. As a result of this month-long war many civilians have been killed or badly wounded. 24,000 children have had their education disrupted and had to flee their homes in horror under the attack of cluster bombs and missiles or continue living in shelters. Their homes have been destroyed and many have been orphaned.

Your contribution whether £100 or £10 is going to make huge difference on the ground to provide food and basics to 1000s of children and families.
