Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So what am I doing? Well............
A Skydive - leaping out of a plane shouting Geronimo! (or other words)
When: Friday 10th July 2015
Where: Hibaldstow. Initially 10,000ft above but reducing very quickly!
Why: Not right in the head.
Real Reason Why: "Skydive for Stephen"
Stephen Sutton was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 15.
On 7th January 2013, he set up a website called Stephen's Story:
http://Stephensstory.co.uk/
Here he outlined a bucket list of 46 things he wanted to achieve in the time he had left. No.2 on the list was a skydive, which he did twice in 2014.
Number 34 on the list was to "Get my name into the Guinness World Book of Records somehow"
On 14th May 2014, Stephen passed away. In the weeks and months leading up to his death, he was determined that this world record attempt should go ahead and begun to recruit people.
Inspired by Stephen and at the request of his family, Teenage Cancer Trust is organising a huge world record breaking event called "Skydive for Stephen".
The event involves recruiting at least 350 people to jump 10,000ft out of a plane. Stephen applied to the Guinness World Records for the "Most tandem parachute jumps in 24hrs" and the aim is to break.. no smash this record which currently stands at 281 people.
