Story
For many years now i have had so many of my close family taken away from me through severe illness. I have felt so much loss that i now feel it's time for me to help those around me.
I recently went to watch my girlfriend dance for a charity event, not knowing exactly for what the charity was raising money for. I can certainly say i was not prepared to moved so much by a touching story. Rob Holland was a young lad just 14yrs of age when he was struck with the news of cancer. It was also to be found it was a rare cancer (DSRCT) that took his life in 6months shortly after turning 15! But Rob showed remarkable will power and kind heart to create a charity in which to make aware his rare cancer, and to bring research to the uk. After Rob had raised his £100,000 target, his mum Amanda took over the charity aiming to raise £30,000 per year to fund the researcher.
I was so moved by Robs story, that i now feel i have found my place in helping his mum amanda with their charity.
On october the 9th, i will be running a 10k event that has 10 assault courses with three of my friends. (www.mhsurvival.co.uk) Christopher Pack, Chris Beale, Rob Dore and myself will be running this event in aid of ROBS ARTTT charity. Now i feel i have a purpose to put myself through hell and feel any cuts and bruises i may get along the course will be well worth it. Lets face it the four of us will need all the help and encouragement we can get to take us round this course.
We all really hope that after reading my story, you might find it in your heart to help such a loving, caring young man in his fight for ROBS ARTTT and donate towards this meaningful charity. Any donations will seriously help towards the yearly target to provide this much needed research so they can help others.
Thankyou so much in taking time to read my story.
Aaron Wilson.
