Story
UPDATE: With the overwhelming support we have received from each and every kind donor, we've been thinking about how we can thank you from the bottom of our heart. We did think about sending every person a small gift, but ofcourse we don't know everyone's address, we kept on thinking and have -hopefully- come up with a good idea.
We have decided (me: Ridha and my bro: Hasan), to carry on reading suret Yaseen for the marhumeen of all those who donated, not only till the end of Ramadan, but............wait for it........
till next Ramadan (inshaAllah) 😊😊😊😊😊😊
We want to read Suret Yaseen for your marhumeen, your loved ones who have left this world and moved closer to their Lord, for a whole year and we hope and pray this act will be a thank you from us for your support.
We also want to open up this offer to anyone else who wishes to donate from now till Eid (we don't know when we will close this page, but we think it's probably by Eid), and wants us to recite Suret Yaseen for their loved ones for a whole year plz donate to the orphans generously and we will show our gratitude by gifting you our Quran recitation.
Therefore, anyone who wishes us to remember the names of their loved ones after we recite the Surah everyday from now till next Ramadan, plz do write their names in the message after your kind donation.
Thank you in advance and please do share our msg to your friends, family and contacts so we can raise as much money for the orphans as we can
With dua's
Ridha (11) Hasan (9)
Original message:
My name is Ridha and I'm 11 years old, and my younger brother Hasan is 9 years old. We've decided to take on a challenge in order to raise money for Al-Ayn Social care foundation, a charity very close to our hearts.
We will be reciting suret Yaseen everyday and gifting it to your deceased loved ones for any donation £20 or more, but any donation, no matter what the amount, is appreciated immensely and will leave a lasting impact on children who'll need it the most. You can leave the names of your loved ones who've passed away in the comments if you'd like us to remember them by name.
It might sound like an easy task, but bear in mind we have been fasting everyday and reciting Quran, so this will be in addition to all that, and to be honest, we already feel overwhelmed, what with school work and everything else. BUT... the cause is so worth it and we are ready to take on the challenge head on. Every penny will spur us on further and we hope that we can make an impact on the lives of children like us, but have gone through unimaginable trauma and difficulty.
A little about the cause:
Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation is a reputable charity, sponsoring more than 62,000 orphans in Iraq, the country with one of the highest number of orphans worldwide. This charity stands out, not only for its size and reputation in the U.N and worldwide, but mainly for its child centred approach, where the needs of the orphan are the focus of the charity, rather than making the orphan accomodate to what the donor wants and what the donor can give. At Al-Ayn, the child is the centre of how the charity works, and everything revolves around their best interest.
The best example that can highlight what I mean, is the centre which we are raising money for, the Luminous Stars Centre.
This centre has psychological rehabilitation at its heart, to help the the children tackle all the mental load and trauma that they face. As well as providing a vocational training centre alongside this, where young adults will be trained to work in a profession of their choice, and will be mentored until they enter the workforce.
The Luminous Stars Centre, aims to build the child's esteem and self belief and to give them ambition, to break the box they've put themselves into and live upto the potential inside them rather than where society places them, and to be leaders of the future and pioneers in every field. Your donation can and WILL make a huge impact.
Due to decades of war, conflict and instability, 1 in 5 people in Iraq live in poverty, with orphaned children often being impacted the most. The global pandemic has escalated the mental trauma the children are already facing, coupled with their dire financial circumstances. The lack of access to basic services could have a lasting detrimental impact on their lives. These children's future is at stake. This month of Ramadhan, Al-Ayn will focus its efforts in helping rebuild the lives of orphaned children and youth across Iraq by providing access to mental health services as well as vocational training opportunities through the Luminous Stars Centres.Inspired by the divine promise, your acts of generosity this month are like a seed (Quran 2:261) that grows and multiplies.
