For my Bar Mitzvah project, I have decided to support BRC -  the Bowery Resident’s Committee. BRC is a homeless outreach organization who takes donations from people and then uses that money to improve the lives of homeless people by providing shelter, job training, access to mental health services and much more. Through their “The Way Home Fund'' they are building apartments with below market rate rents so that people who make minimum wage can afford a good, safe and nice place to live.  

There are so many stumbling blocks in life and BRC helps lives by taking away those stumbling blocks. I am supporting them because they do a lot in supporting the homeless community. In my life, I have spent a lot of time doing this: connecting and helping the homeless  by volunteering at my synagogue's homeless shelter and donating money directly to BRC.
