We provide emotional & practical support to anyone affected by a sight/hearing loss

Story

I have ran the Balmoral 5K for seven years - so it's time to tackle that hill!

Inspired by incredible people I have met recently through working with NESS, I am keen to raise funds to support the important work they do in helping people with hearing and visual impairment to lead more independent lives. Life can be tough - but imagine how tough it is without sight, hearing or both. The people at NESS work tirelessly to make everyday things - like looking at Facebook on a smartphone, or reading a book - more accessible for people who are blind or deaf. And NESS also helps people make friends, which is pretty important.

NESS exists to help people overcome the potentially devastating effects of serious sight or hearing loss, whether they have been born deaf or blind or have developed serious vision or hearing problems. Sensory impairment frequently leads to isolation and NESS provides access to special equipment, employment support, access to social activities and has enabled young people with sensory loss to undertake new activities in a safe environment. Many of their activities have to be funded through fund raising and I would like to encourage as many people as possible to support this worthwhile cause.
