Story

To celebrate the birthday of BTS Suga, ARMYs have decided to support
Mental Health.

Why Mental Health?
Although we cannot know everyone single ARMY's reason for choosing
mental health as the cause to support for Yoongi's birthday, we can at least take a guess.

Many of BTS's songs talk or mention mental health. It's an important topic for BTS ARMY, since many have experienced mental illness, and many even found BTS when struggling with their own mental health and found solace or maybe even companionship with BTS's music and message during this difficult time. BTS's members also don't shy away from talking about their own struggles, and maybe is it especially clear in Yoongi's own song from his mixtape AGUST D: The Last.

Something that is seem so important to both the fandom and the artist always makes it more special to support, because in some ways, you're also supporting yourself, aren't you? Finding an org that furthermore focuses on music was just a cherry on top. Because without the amazing music that BTS puts out, none of us would be where we are today, which is together.

Who are Key Changes?
Key Changes provide music engagement and recovery services in hospitals and the community for young people and adults affected by mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bi polar disorder and schizophrenia.

Their programme promotes wellbeing and recovery through developing creative, technical and vocational skills and opens pathways to mainstream opportunities in education, training, work experience and employment. The approach draws on clinical therapeutic techniques and professional music industry practice.

Who are One In An ARMY?
One In An ARMY (OIAA) is a fan collective comprised of volunteers around the globe. Driven by our shared interest in global superstars, BTS, and the idea of using our collective power for global good, we seek out non-profit organizations worldwide and harness the power of ARMY into giving micro-donations over a one month period. Our motto, “I am ONE in an ARMY”, plays with the idea that many people giving small amounts can create a substantial impact when we work together.

The past year we had 7 successful birthday campaigns,  one for each member of BTS. Then OIAA personally picked the organizations with the aim of supporting causes that represented each members individuality. This year we conducted polls that ARMY could vote on for what causes should be supported for each members birthday. To see updates, what other birthday campaigns we'll conduct and more info: visit https://www.oneinanarmy.org/ or any of our social media (@oneinanarmy).
