'FOOTBALL FOR PEACE '  of  Children Change Colombia

Dear Friends, 

Please help me reach my target of £1K for  the children in need of Colombia.

For over 2 decades now, of Children Change Colombia (CCC), a British registered charity that helps children to claim their right to live safely and in peace.

I have been involved in several activities, from raising awareness for the wonderful projects they support throughout the country to organising fundraising events like project talks, challenges,  the annual Thames Walk, parties and more.

 Now, for the last year I have been following closely the work of one of their partners, the Afro-Colombian Community Council (ACADESAN) in Chocó and Valle del Cauca, who are running the project ‘Football for Peace’.

This project is close  to my heart, as football, as many of you know, has been a passion for me since my early days.  Anyone who knows me have often seen me on the stands of Stamford Bridge supporting the Blues or wearing the "amarilla" cheering the Colombian national team in my yellow shirt!

We all are aware of the  great physical, social and psychological impact that sports has on children and communities and that is why I invite you to support this project and share your  love of football by sponsoring me with a small donation, as a way of celebrating my birthday.

We are aiming to help initially 22 communities. Each one requires £2,800 GBP (COP $15,000,000) to pay  for the training of teachers, the football kits and restore the pitches. Though  I'd like to raise the full amount, this year, I am hoping to raise at least £1,000 to enable one community to get started.

Your donation will contribute to:    

£30 will give one child a full football kit and boots. 

£215 will train 5 teachers on the prevention of child recruitment  

£450 will give a whole team of children their football kit and boots.

£1,000  will allow us to restore a football pitch

You could also  see the conditions in which these children are playing football. I am sure that between us,  by helping me reach my target of £1K, we can help those kids and  CCC to carry on with its great work. Thus, making projects like ACADESAN sustainable so that many girls and boys can fulfil their dream of a better education and a safe and secure future because I strongly believe that empowered CHILDREN can really CHANGE COLOMBIA!
