We use the power of choral singing to have a positive impact on society.

Story

Dad - William - Prof. Wallace - Lord Wallace of Saltaire, etc. - is turning 80 on 12th March! What an interesting few decades it has been. We aren't able to celebrate in person this year so are doing what we can to celebrate Dad on this milestone birthday.

Two constants in Dad's life have been singing and Westminster. He joined the Westminster Abbey choir as a child, has been singing ever since, and returned to Westminster as a parliamentarian in the 1990s. Dad still sings with the Purcell Club (Westminster Abbey Old Choristers' Association), and with the Parliament choir.

Dad is a long-term supporter and founder chair of trustees of the Voces8 foundation. This charity was founded by other Westminster Abbey choristers and provides choral education in London and beyond. They sprung into action during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide online music education, and have organized online concert series that have helped to support other musicians through a period of no live in-person concerts.

The Voces Cantabiles ensemble are also beautiful, creative, singers. Find out more at their website: https://voces8.foundation/
