Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie are calling on the nation to get down to the pool for Swimathon 2024 - thousands of swimmers, two great causes, one big charity challenge.On 27 April, over 21,000 swimmers will be heading to over 300 pools across the UK to raise money for our two amazing charity partners.My contribution to this will be swimming 5,000m for this great charity.Sadly this year my mum passed away following her two year battle with cancer. Mum loved to swim and did the swimathon years ago for other people suffering with cancer. Whilst we can't do it for my mum this year we can do it for others.Throughout her treatment she received some amazing support and care but unfortunately there was no cure! Through the work of these two amazing charities I believe that one day they WILL find a cure, together we can really make a difference.
