Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I intend to take part in the Berwick Riding of the Bounds on 1st May 2011 to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the RVI Newcastle in memory of my cousin Sarah who sadly lost her fight with cancer on 14th August 2010 aged 19. All money raised will go directly to the unit at the RVI where Sarah received treatment.

Sarah was a keen horsewoman and was determined to overcome her illness to take part in the ride last year, sadly Sarah passed away only a few months after achieving this goal. The photograph shown is of Sarah with her pony Tom and the second photo is of Sarah on Tom at the ride last May. 

It was because of this show of determination by Sarah and a pact I had made with her and a friend that we would all take part this year that gave me the idea to raise money for the trust in this way.

The event is a 15 mile horse ride around the Town's boundries at mostly trot and canter taking about 5 hours to complete. I am a complete novice rider and just started having lessons 8 weeks before the big day. To date I have just started getting to grips with trotting and a small canter and there are only 5 weeks to go!!
