Story
I'm running the Edinburgh Marathon to see if I can - I've never run a marathon before.
I started running seriously about six months ago, and since then I have run a couple of half marathons as well as a number of shorter races. It's been really good to challenge myself and watch myself get fitter.
I am running in memory of my mother. It's ten years since she died, and I hope she would be proud of me.
But it's not all about me. My mother focused on other people, and I am running to raise a little bit of money for Medical Aid for Palestinians.
Like many people, I saw last year's attack on Gaza, and found it absolutely heartbreaking, particularly seeing children killed and wounded by modern weapons. I felt frustrated and impotent.
By running for MAP, I can at least contribute a little to the healing process.
