Story
Last year, Nanny Anne was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and died in December, just four months after diagnosis. We all miss her so much and she meant so much to her family and grandchildren - Howard has decided he wants to set himself a challenge in her memory. Raising money for Garden House Hospice Care.
Hi, I'm Howard and I'm 6 years old. I want to raise money for a charity very close to my Nanny's heart. Mummy says, Garden House Hospice is where incredible people care for people who are very poorly, so I'm fundraising for them. Nanny loved caring for people, and used to volunteer at the hospice, and loved talking about the people she met. My Mummy works for an organisation called INTO Giving - INTO Giving will top up any funds we raise for Garden House Hospice Care by 20%, through their iGive program www.into-giving.com/iGive
Nanny was such a kind person, and my sister, my cousins, and I (that's us in the photo with Nanny & Grandad!) loved crafting, snuggling up with a book, and baking with her - She baked the best cakes! Nanny was a great adventurer too, and loved discovering new places across the world, and admiring nature when out for a walk, this is why I decided to set myself a walking challenge - One day in February, when the weather is ok, Mummy, Daddy and I are going to walk 10 Miles along the coast, I am not really sure how far this is but I know it's a long way for my 6 year old legs! Daddy says it's from Portslade, all the way past the big pier, and loads further to Peacehaven(ish)...and he thinks we'll need a lot of cakes in our rucksack, a packed lunch Nanny would be proud of!
Thank you, and lots of love,
Howard, Izzy & Dan (Mummy & Daddy)
