Story
In October 2021, at the age of 64 I was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer, I was lucky it hadn't spread and after surgery and radiotherapy I was declared cancer free. I am currently on adjuvant ( hormone) treatment to prevent a recurrence and have had infusions to strengthen my bones.
Sadly, my beloved friend Lorraine hasn't been so lucky and has been fighting breast cancer for 28 years. She is so brave and strong and has fought so hard to stay with her beloved family.
I am walking a marathon at the young age of 67 in recognition of the superstar that Lorraine is, for me because I am so lucky to have been diagnosed in 2021 with all the advantages modern medicine offers and for all the other brave men and women who live with this diagnosis.
Please give whatever you can to help me make a difference and help the thousands of women every year who hear the shocking words, "you have breast cancer".
Thank you
