Hi,
I am NOT running the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2020 for Epilepsy Action BECAUSE OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC!
But don't worry I will still be running the Marathon. The race has been postponed until Sunday 4th October 2020. Oh wait - hold up. Another postpone...Make that, Sunday 2nd October 2022!
It will be my first marathon so any tips are much appreciated!!
Epilepsy is a condition that affects the brain and disrupts it from working normally. Epileptic seizures can be unpredictable and incredibly scary. Epilepsy Action provides support and advice to improve the lives of everyone living with epilepsy.
As many of you know my sister, Amelia, suffers from Epilepsy as well as having learning difficulties. When younger she suffered from a lot of seizures, which frequently required ambulances and hospital visits. Now aged 22 her seizures are more under control through medication, but still a very real threat.
In 2010 my cousin Sophie Hannon tragically died at the age of 23, in an epilepsy related incident. Sophie was a bright, kind and funloving girl who had just moved to London after graduating from university.
Epilepsy is a condition that has a huge impact on our everyday family life. There is still a lot to learn about epilepsy but Epilepsy Action provides amazing support for those families that are affected by this condition.
