Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Over the weekend of the 11th and 12th of July the Women's Section of Worcester Hockey Club are running, walking and cycling a distance of 500km to raise money to support the clubs development of a new hockey centre to be built in Worcester.
The new hockey centre will be a fantastic addition to the city benefiting not just members of the club, but schools and the wider community.
We will be asking participants to raise money by collecting sponsorship from friends, colleagues and family. Even the smallest amount will go a long way in helping us to finally have a home of our own!
We have mapped out 4 routes that take in the landmarks and beauty of Worcester and we want you and your family and friends to get involved!
Run, walk or cycle one of the 4 routes that have been mapped out, with the cumulative total of participants taking us to our target of 500km.
These routes have been tried and tested by members of the Worcester Women’s section (approx. distances) exact route details will be marked out and shared via the STRAVA app and email.
1. Lap of Pitchcroft Racecourse: 2.8 km
2. Nunnery Wood pitches to the University of Worcester pitches (via the Elgar Statue): 5.1 km
3. Pitchcroft via New Road to Diglis Bridge, past the Cathedral and back to Pitchcroft (lovely river loop): 8 km
4. Nunnery Wood pitches to the racecourse via the Lea and Perrins Factory, Perdiswell Swimming pool, the site of the new pitches and Gheluvelt Park: 11.8 km
You can run, walk or cycle one of the agreed routes individually or as a team of up to 6 people (adhering to up to date social distancing guidelines!) with each member doing a leg or all of you running as a socially distanced group.
We will be setting up a STRAVA group to log all of our efforts and measure the kilometres, you can also add some photos from the landmarks you and your team pass along the way!
Encourage your friends and family to be involved, the more the merrier!
Thank you for supporting Worcester Hockey Club!
