CoLab is a charity, based in Exeter, that works to support the most vulnerable and marginalised in our communities. We support people with complex life situations and multiple disadvantages, such as mental ill-health, homelessness, domestic and sexual violence and abuse, substance misuse, (re)offending and poverty we focus our support around recovery, belonging, rehabilitation and wellbeing.

In ‘normal’ times we work as an integrated cross sector wellbeing and innovation hub, where organisations work together, support one another, and through an innovative model of collaboration, seek to bring out positive change and social justice for individuals and communities. The CoLab ethos is rooted in promoting social justice and providing a space for everyone to realise their full potential.

In recent weeks the way in which we support people has adapted to the ever changing landscape. We have seen significant increase in need and challenges we could not have foreseen, but above all, we have seen kindness, creativity and resolve at each step.

Lucy has long been a friend and colleague, and supporter (and participant) in the work of CoLab. We are honoured that she is seeking to support our work through her wonderful idea of “Virtual Dinner Parties R On Us”. I have been to a few and it’s been joyful and fun.

The challenges faced by the communities we support are many and varied, and change daily.  As I am sure you can appreciate as a charity we are always looking for new and creative ways to fund our work and we welcome this new approach from Virtual Dinner Parties R On Us.
