We support medically-discharged veterans to give them independence

Story

Skiing with Heroes, recently re-named Supporting Injured
Veterans, is a charity which provides brave men and women with purpose, mental & physical rehabilitation and an opportunity to get back into mainstream life and employment.

This year I have been chosen to assist a veteran who will be learning to ski and am raising money to fund the trip for 25 ex-servicemen and women. I will be covering my costs so 100% of the money raised goes to charity.

Anyone who enjoys skiing, or indeed sport, will understand the confidence, sense of achievement and excitement it offers. I would like to be able to offer this to those who have already given up so much.

While their flagship event is a ski week in Klosters, which this year is taking place from February 26 - March 5, their work is ongoing.

The charity has recently set up an employment arm and mentoring scheme which aims to support its beneficiaries to full employment.

I will be also be taking part in the mentoring scheme.
