Story
Lancashire Wildlife Trust began in 1962 by people, who like you, knew they needed to take action. Since then we have grown to be the largest nature conservation body in the area, working at a grass roots, local level whilst also being part of a strong cohesive movement. We have saved many special places, acquiring & managing them as nature reserves—we look after over 1,288 hectares of havens for rare & threatened species & habitats. But we need your help ensure our work doesn't stop there and that we continue to fight for natures survival………………...
Whilst hacking and walking around our beautiful countryside in Mawdesley we have seen so much litter on the verges and in the ditches of our lanes 🙁
Jenna and Katrina have decided to collect and recycle it, and in doing so raise money for charity - The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside.
Today we walked only half a mile up Hall Green Lane and collected 7.5Kg of mainly glass and plastic litter. This is not only unsightly but extremely damaging to our wildlife and its environment.
They are going to go out whenever they can over the coming weeks to remove the litter from the ditches and recycle it ♻️ Their aim is to collect another 50kg. If you feel you can sponsor them they would be grateful for every penny - or just give them a wave if you see them out and about 👋 thank you 😊 🐱🐭🐰🦆🐝🦋🐌🦉🐞🐜🪰🪲🕷🐿
