Story
As many of you know, Vic was always heavily involved with youth clubs since his teenage years in Grazeley. The youth club movement gave Vic so many opportunities that he otherwise may not have had. For example the formation of his first band and volunteering alongside his wife Sandra with the PHAB charity at Avon Tyrell in the New Forest. This led to him becoming a youth club leader for many years. He then became an active committee member at the Berkshire Association of Young People (which later became Berkshire Youth). Vic remained on the committee until earlier this year and asked for donations to be made to Berkshire Youth in his memory.
Berkshire Youth supports youth leaders and young people aged 10-18 through challenging life transitions/events to help them make the right choices, grow resilience and mature as individuals and members of society. Berkshire's affluence belies areas of hidden urban and rural deprivation with very low levels of social mobility, where the needs of vulnerable young people are often overlooked. They work with a range of partners to ensure the most hard to reach young people are able to access support and services when they most need them.
