Story

UPDATE

I'm pleased to say that I successfully completed the challenge but in 26 hours rather than  24.   We lost an hour in traffic and through an 'incident' (we were trying to overtake a car and at a same time a car was trying to overtake us  which equalled a collision!) and the other hour was lost because of poor weather whilst climbing Scafell Pike (gales, hail and driving rain)

Despite all this, we had a great time and I'm so pleased to have raised so much money for Headway. Thanks again for your sponsorship.

As some of you know, I am doing the National 3 Peaks Challenge this weekend, which involves climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike - in all 26 miles of ascents and descents and a climb of 3000 vertical metres.

In true Vanessa style, I've had a few adventures during my training including crashing my car into a rock and cracking the radiator which meant I was stranded in Wales for an extra couple of days and also nearly getting lost on top of a mountain when the mist very suddently came down (scary stuff!) but it has been fun..

Normally I wouldn't ask for sponsorship but, because it's such a challenge, I thought I'd try and raise some money for Headway.  Headway is a wonderful organisation that supports people with acquired brain injuries by providing friendship and support to families, providing a day service and other support for adults with brain injuries and they also play a key role in informing and educating the general public on the effects of head injuries.

Head injuiries can affect anyone at any time so I would be grateful if you could donate some money to this very worthwhile cause.  Some-one at work suggested £1/peak but anything you can contribute will be gratefully appreciated by Headway.  Many thanks.
