I first became aware of this wonderful charity when my only grandson was diagnosed with PIPO (Paediatric Intestinal Pseudo Obstruction) at the age of 18 months.  He was born prematurely and we knew before birth he had an issue with his bladder but as time went on more organs became affected until the time came when he was very ill and required surgery. His wonderful surgeon was unsure why his bowel appeared not to be working effectively, and eventually after a few more operations and with the help of other specialists the diagnosis was made. To say we went into shock was an understatement, we had never heard of this condition, and was unsure of what the future held. 

Now at the age of 3 he still suffers from regular flare ups that put him in hospital for weeks at a time, although he is a very happy little boy, and is learning to live with this condition at such a young age. 

He is not alone this debilitating and life limiting condition affects all age groups, and in varying degrees. The Charity, and the members of its Facebook group have been very supportive and helpful to me, so I can support my grandson and his mum.

I sometimes feel helpless in what I can do to  help them, but I do know I can use my hobby to raise valuable funds for this very worthwhile cause so doctors can continue to research this condition.
