Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have struggled with my weight over the last few years in particular and am now the biggest I have ever been. I am hoping to lose weight for myself and raise money for a charity close to my heart  at the same time.

I am concerned as I have started to have health issues all related to my weight. I am hoping that raising money for charity will give me the inspiration I need as I will not only be making an impact on my life but also those of local residents

I am beginning my weight loss journey on 01/08/21 and will do it for six months. I currently weigh 13 stones 7 pounds and hope to lose 8 pounds a month and therefore get below 10 stone by the time I finish this sponsorship on 01/02/22.

My chosen charity is The Deacon Centre, of which my husband and I are trustees.

The Deacon Centre is a creative space for adults with Physical, Learning and Communication disabilities and those who care for them. The centre provides activity sessions in Creative Writing, Art, Music and Drama for Service Users, their carers and support workers in and around the Caterham area. The centre takes its name from Caterham resident Joey Deacon who overcame severe disability to write a successful book.

Thank you in advance for all your support.
