Story
Hi everyone,
I'm Denis Boscovich and this is my story.
Last year, my wife and I decided were going to have our first baby. We were very excited and after hearing that heart beat for the very first time, we were over the moon and started making lots of plans - and having arguments about the baby's name!
Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. During the 12 week scan, the room was silent and we couldn't hear anything anymore. We couldn't believe it this had happened to us.
We tried again earlier this year and, even earlier than before, we had another miscarriage. I know our journey will have a happy ending but in the meantime, we're turning this into something positive to help others and we need your help!
The fear and worry after a loss like ours can be overwhelming. The National Maternity Hospital set up the TLC clinic for women who have had recurrent miscarriages last year which offers a free ultrasound scan every Friday. If you have experienced this once, it's always in your mind that it can happen again, but this service offered by TLC takes the worries away when you get to hear that heartbeat every week and you know everything is okay.
We want to give this clinic a new ultrasound machine so more women, who have been through devastating losses and may not be able to afford a scan every week, can be reassured by the amazing work in the TLC clinic.
We are fundraising side by side with Sinead Hingston, who have been on similar journey as us, to collectively raise €25k.
