An update on Pete:

We have had a positive response from Pete's oncologist this week regarding working with us if we source some genetic testing privately.  The company we are talking to about carrying out the test is promoted as a world leader in cancer genetics and has had some amazing results on difficult cancers, or cancers that have not responded to standard of care treatments.  However, they just do the testing - and we need someone to administer the treatment they suggest once the test is carried out. The initial test costs £3,000 so I do need to keep fundraising  It's a major breakthrough for us to finally get some co-operation from the local hospital.  We are all unique and we all respond differently to any drugs so one treatment fits all method doesn't make any sense at all.   I was told this week by Pete's oncologist that he is happy to support us on this because this is the way that cancer treatment is going!!!  What a result!  With the results of the tests, Datar will provide a "smart bomb" protocol to dealing with Pete's tumour (damage limitation) rather than the "cluster bomb" approach that is the normal standard of care treatment that Pete has been offered and so far refused.  Things are looking up at last.  We still have some way to go so please keep your positive thoughts coming our way.

About my artwork - "Floral Abstractions"

To say this last year has been unusual, challenging and for
some, heartrending, is an understatement. To understand the enormity of this global pandemic and the effect it has had (and is still having) on civilisation is incomprehensible. Yet, despite this common tragedy our individual lives continue, peppered with ordinary occurrences, happy celebrations and occasionally terrible prognoses.

In August 2020, my partner, Pete, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, also known as bowel, colon or rectal cancer. The standard,
invasive treatments available to us were not encouraging and we decided to source alternative integrative therapy which combines conventional methods with more natural approaches.

Treatment is expensive and I am funding this alone as Pete
is now unable to work. To date, I have raised £4000 by utilising the wonderful Yes to Life charity’s platform Just Giving. This platform has enabled friends and family to sponsor my ‘jog/dance challenge’ in which I applied my extensive dance experience and my passion for running. But, to reach my goal of £10,000 towards Pete’s ongoing medical costs we need the help and support of the public at
large.

What started out as a hobby, has now become a quest for
life.   Art has not only been of therapeutic value to both me and
Pete, but it has also infused us with hope and mental wellbeing. To continue our quest to raise £10,000 I have already started painting and selling beautiful, inspirational and everlasting paintings of abstract flowers, hoping that you too will have as much pleasure in viewing them as I did creating them.

The objective of my paintings is obvious, but they are completely subjective to the viewer; I see them as bold explosions of colourful
blooms textured with multifaceted mediums, scoring techniques and salient patterns. The structured layers are applied on canvas and illuminated by changeable sources of natural and artificial light, so too are the free-flowing criss-crosses, swirls and other decorative etchings. The culmination of which are vivacious compositions of eloquent floral abstractions.

To have the opportunity of returning your generosity with a
a floral abstraction would be a gift by its very nature and I
sincerely thank you.

How to order:

Please visit the gallery where you will see my artwork with sizes and guide prices shown.  Most are on a stretched canvas and are ready for hanging.   If you would like to make a donation in exchange for a  picture, then please let Brenda know which one you would like and she will ask me to remove it from the gallery once sold.   Each canvas has its own number.  e.g. #001.  Each piece is original and unique so will be on a first come first served basis.  Brenda has kindly agreed to distribute the artwork for me so I will work with her for delivery.    If they're a bit expensive right now, I'm happy for donations by instalments or whatever you can give.

Thank you so much.

Love

Tricia and Pete xx
