- The 2019, the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) ranks Blackpool as the most deprived of 317 Local Authorities in England
- Neighbourhoods in Blackpool then account for eight of the ten most deprived neighbourhoods nationally
- Blackpool itself has nearly 8,000 children living below the poverty line
- Blackpool Food Bank has saved 124 tonnes of food going into landfill in 2022 so far, which is the equivalent of nearly 300K meals
- We’ve provided over 2,000 crisis food parcels in the first half of this year alone.
- In the first quarter of 2022, we saw a 48% increase in the number of food parcels we were giving out
- At Blackpool Food Bank, we distribute food to 80 partner organisations across Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre, as well as many other smaller hubs and community groups across Lancashire who handle food as part of the service that they provide, in turn feeding around 7,000 people per month.
