On May 5, 2017 at 9:30pm, we welcomed our dear son Benjamin Gene to the world at just 25 weeks due to HELLP syndrome. Benjamin had an extremely complicated NICU journey but it was one that was whole-heartedly supported by so many family members and friends and doctors, nurses and therapists. The amount of heel sticks, IVs, PICC lines, intubations and bedside procedures that he endured would overwhelm anyone but he inspired so many of us to never give up. We said goodbye to Benjamin after three short months but are honored to carry on his story.

Every year, the Saturday closest to his birthday, we gather to plant tree saplings in a nearby park and virtually in people’s communities across the country. It’s a time to give back and continue his legacy.
