Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We are raising money for Hereford Macmillan Renton Unit, who have been a great support to one of our Carers Michelle.
Below is Michelle's story
This is my story:
Hello my name is Michelle Baker and i am a senior carer at Elgar Care.
On 6th November last year i was diagnosed with Breast cancer. The month following that was a whirlwind, I had the operation to have the lump removed the 28th November i then started my chemo on he 6th of January.
This time of my life was upside down and frustrating. I now have to sit at home and ponder, rather than being out caring for others.
I've been supported throughout this with my amazing family, friends and work colleagues.
One night my manager called me to check if i was ok, I wasn't, i was blubbering wreck and was starting to lose my hair due to the chemo.
They told me from the start they would kick this with me, and said "we'll go bald together" i was speechless and cried more.
I am hoping "my story" will not only raise awareness that this can happen to anyone, but also with them braving the shave for me will raise lots of money for a great cause.
I am fighting this and have just had my 4th lot of chemo and will come out of this stronger than I've ever been.
