Story
I am taking part in the New York Marathon on Sunday 6th November 2016 along with Bryn Hughes, the father of PC Nicola Hughes, who was tragically murdered in the line of duty doing a job she loved. A member of each Police Force throughout the country will be joining Bryn and I in memory of PC Nicola Hughes.
You may be aware of the tragic events in Manchester in September 2012 where two unarmed Police Officers, PC Nicola Hughes and PC Fiona Bone, were shot and killed in the line of duty by Dale Creegan following a routine burglary call.
The aims of the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund are to provide learning opportunities and pre-employment skills in the form of support through grants or services to children who have suffered a tragic loss of a close family member through a violent crime such as murder or manslaughter.
The devastating effect a tragedy like this has on adults is hard to cope with but is different to how children cope. The PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund would like to help children to try and rebuild their lives and look towards the future. To be able to stand on their own feet by continuing with education, where financial situations may have changed, or to start that course which will enable them to gain employment.
Your donation, however small will help support children who have suffered a tragic loss.
THANK YOU!
