Coronavirus Emergency Appeal for our Homeless Veterans

Fundraising for Alabaré
£7,058

Coronavirus Emergency Homeless Appeal, 6 April 2020
Coronavirus is posing a severe threat to the homeless people we are supporting at Alabaré and has already put huge strains on our charity financially.

Story

Tony and I are reaching out to all our friends  to support a cause very dear to our hearts;  Alabare's Homes for Veterans. You have been most generous over the years and we hesitate to ask you again but today we are all facing a major crisis.

Many of us fortunate to live in this beautiful County have Homes,Space, Gardens, Computers, Facetime/Telephone and Television which does help relieve the pressure  but many including the homeless do not.  Alabare Homes for Veterans NOW urgently need your help.    75% of our homeless have underlying health issues and many have no one to turn to.  Rough sleepers do not have access to the soap and water we are all using to help protect ourselves. They do not have the means to self-isolate. The vast majority are more susceptible to illness and many have complex underlying mental as well as ill health problems.'  The charity has seen an 400% increase in the number of  people who have needed to self-isolate  With support from Alabaré, thankfully, many have had somewhere safe to go. In a small way by taking care of them we hope this, in a small way, does help our fantastic NHS.

However sadly almost overnight, sources of funding have dried up. The virus is spreading, the charity are supporting more vulnerable Veterans off the street each day but without action now, a large number of homeless Veterans could die. As you know we have here in Gloucestershire our own Alabare Veterans Homes but Alabare have many Homes in the U.K. helping Veterans from our 3 Services,  Please can you help us today and help Alabaré save lives.

We fully appreciate you all have your own special charities and are most generous but today even a small donation will go such  a long way in helping us to support our Veterans who fought our battles in the past. However now we are all fighting an unseen, vicious enemy and must fight together.  Our warmest thanks if you can help our Veterans and our Homeless during this major crisis affecting our World today.

THANKYOU!
