Please support us as we run a number of different events to support the work of Child Action Lanka during the Covid-19 pandemic.  

Tonbridge School has partnered with Child Action Lanka since 2014, helping them to support the most vulnerable children and poorest families in Sri Lanka. In 2019 we helped fund and equip a new Child Development Centre in Batticaloa, and were looking forward to the formal opening in summer 2020.  Due to the Covid-19 crisis, we have sadly had to postpone this trip.  However, we still want to do our best to help CAL and their vital work, especially during this pandemic as they need our support more than ever.

Child Action Lanka is delivering emergency aid packages to over 1,850 families.  Sadly, rates of domestic violence to women and children have risen sharply during lockdown, and CAL have also delivered over 3,000 care packages to children, ensuring that vulnerable women and children know there is someone to whom they can turn to for help.  They are also running a 24 hr helpline and a 'Safe House' where women can take their children to safety if necessary.
