Story
Seven years ago, I was part of a small group of students who ran the first ever Just Love event in Oxford. This sparked a national movement - and I have been privileged to lead Just Love as we have grown to 25 cities around the UK. Just Love students have run over 4,000 events with an aggregate attendance of 50,000 students, giving 29,000 volunteer hours in local communities and raising £100,000 for other charities. More than that, Just Love has catalysed a generation of leaders into a whole-life, lifelong pursuit of social justice. I really believe that the tens of thousands of students who come through Just Love groups in the coming years will be brilliantly envisioned and equipped to make a huge difference to so many of our world's biggest injustices. I have already seen so many people graduate and go on to do just that.
This summer, I am stepping down from leading Just Love. The team I am handing over to are absolutely brilliant, and they have so many ideas to take Just Love to new heights. I have never been more excited about the vision and potential of this movement, and I want to do everything I can to help Just Love thrive.
I now live almost 60 miles from St Aldates, Oxford, where the first ever Just Love event took place. Over the course of a week, I will run that distance as a symbolic journey of how far Just Love has come (and how much of a challenge it has been!) since that first day, on the 29th of April 2013. Recently, I did a 3 mile run for the first time since 2016. So this will be fun.
Please, help me give Just Love the perfect parting gift by contributing towards my fundraising target. Thank you!
