Without people like you it would not be impossible to keep Awamu's work going - thank you.
Our hearts are full of gratitude that you have come here to give a donation. Your support is life changing. It will give children like Milly an education and access to life saving healthcare.
A massive THANK YOU to you and everyone who is helping to make Together 2022 possible.
Webale Nyo (Means 'Thank you very much' in Luganda)
Milly is 13 years old. When her mother died in a road accident during lockdown, Milly was left to look after her younger sisters (aged 9 and 7). They have no other family that we can trace.
She used to wash clothes or dig neighbours gardens in exchange for food. This work is getting scarcer as food prices have increased in Uganda by more than 400% since lockdown. A meal that cost 20p in 2020 now costs £1.
The sisters are always hungry. Which means they are even more vulnerable. They are potential prey for those looking for new young girls to exploit.
The crisis caused by Covid is having a truly devastating impact on the futures of girls like Milly. Your donation could help them survive and rebuild their lives.
Our team can offer Milly support and protection, find her a safe, secure home and get her back into school and give her the skills she needs to support herself.
Big love from everyone at Together and Awamu
