So after a couple of years thinking about doing it, I have finally plucked up the courage. I have a year to get ready and probably need every one of those days. Land's End to John O'Groats, 969 miles, from the most south westerly point of Cornwall to the most north easterly tip of Scotland on the 9th – 17th September, 2017. I will be hoping to raise £3000 for MIND, the mental health charity. They provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problems. Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem, and the greatest cause of death in men under the age of 35 is suicide.

By doing this challenge, I hope I can in some small way raise the awareness of mental health problems and reduce the stigma that goes with it and raise some money for a worthwhile and sometimes overlooked charity.
