UPDATE on 22/2/20: I am overwhelmed with your generosity and support. We've almost raised enough money for two End of Life SYRINGE DRIVERS and I would love for us to be able to buy a third, so I have increased my fundraising target! A reminder that 100% of your money will be donated to our cause. Thank you! Di x

******************************************

On Wednesday 12th February 2020, my loving husband Tim sadly slipped away. He was peaceful and comfortable towards the end, and after almost 11 months fighting lung cancer, death came to him as a friend.

One of Tim's last wishes was to pass peacefully at home. As well as the wonderful care and support provided by the Palliative Care Team, Marie Curie Rapid Response, Home Oxygen Team, our GP Practice and the District Nurses, something that really helped ensure Tim was peaceful and comfortable at home was an end-of-life SYRINGE DRIVER. This is a small battery-powered pump that delivers medication by syringe to help manage pain, sickness, agitation or breathing problems at a constant rate over 24 hours, through a small plastic tube attached to a point just under the skin. A SYRINGE DRIVER provides a more comfortable and efficient way to give patients the controlled relief they need without disturbance.

This little gadget - and Tim loved gadgets - fulfilled Tim's wish of being able to stay at home, but also peacefully and comfortably. This end-of-life SYRINGE DRIVER was therefore very important.

The District Nurses have only sixteen SYRINGE DRIVERS across the whole county of Northamptonshire. Tim was very fortunate to have been allocated one of these. He was lucky. Others are not.

This is why I have decided to ask for donations to buy two end -of-life SYRINGE DRIVERS. Each unit costs approximately £1,200.

Northamptonshire Health Charity have confirmed this money will be used solely to buy these end-of-life SYRINGE DRIVERS.

Please help me raise enough funds to buy at least two units!

With my love, Di x
