Hospice fundraising by the Harford-Monks family

Fundraising for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity

In memory of Adrian Harford
We work to deliver the best hospice care to for local patients and their families.

Story

In December 1996, my mother Deb Harford died in Florence Nightingale House after a long and painful illness. She received the best possible care there and for many years after, my father Adrian raised money, volunteered, and provided IT support for the hospice.

In April 2022, Adrian Harford also died in Florence Nightingale House, and also received excellent and sensitive care. When we told him we were trying to get him a room there, he replied, "They owe me." Which was true. But we owe them, too.

The whole family are grateful beyond words to the hospice team. Herbie, Adrian's grandson, is running the Town & Gown 3K on 8th May to raise money for the hospice. The rest of us will be doing our own fundraising soon enough.
