Story
In just over six weeks time I’ll be plunging myself into the murky water of the Thames as I embark on the London Triathlon in memory of my great friend and brother in law Alistair Banks. As many of you know, Al died 18 months ago after a 3 year battle with the horribly brutal Motor Neurone Disease. He was an absolute hero and inspiration during his fight as he somehow found the energy and spirit to record a brilliant album, write a blog, front a national campaign, go on radio and tv talk shows and drive a milk float to the coast all in aid of the MNDA. Despite his body rapidly giving up on him he managed to do all of this, raise over £40,000 and continue to be the most incredible dad, husband and friend.
Doing the triathlon is my small way of honouring Al and continuing his incredible fundraising work.
Every penny you donate will go towards vital research into finding a cure for MND as well as helping to ensure that everyone affected by the disease receives the best possible care. The MNDA provided unbelievable support to Al, Alice and the kids. A few quid will go a long way to helping other families cope a little better with this awful illness.
Every penny you donate will also power me through the choppy waters as I’m kicked and slapped in the face by loads of wetsuits!
Thank you so so much,
Tim x
