Story
Terry James Nicholls was raised in St Ediths Orphanage, Somerset after his father became a single parent and thus unable to care for Terry and his siblings. He felt lucky enough to be placed in an orphanage run by kind and caring Church of England nuns, but knew this wasn't the case for thousands of other children.
It is for this reason we would like to raise money for Lumos in memory of an amazing man that was in the same position as the families supported by such an great charity. Lumos rescue children from orphanages and reunite them with families. They change education, health and social care systems so all children and families can access the care and protection they deserve.
Another reason would like to raise money for charity is because Terry said he didn't want people feeling the need to buy flowers at his funeral and would like them to have a choice. In his words "flowers belong in the earth". So, whether you choose to donate in place of flowers or simply in memory of Terry, his family appreciate your donation to a great cause.
