I did it!!!

What an incredible experience!  I was taking all in the stunning view of Lang Co, sometimes was very distracted by it during the race. My favorite part was swimming in the vast sea under beautiful sunrise (and didn't get kicked in the face).

I completed the race in 4:31, ranking 61/82 overall, 13/18 female and 1st place in my category (ahem...with only two of us). The trophy was a nice touch but what I am most proud of is winning against myself and exceeded my time expectation by far. I couldn't have done it without your support! I am serious. Each of you gave me the mental strength to push the extra mile and I was running through your names when I almost gave up at the mountain pass climb.

A big thank you again for your support and generosity. It has been overwhelming. Your donation to Project 3E will be put to good use. Over $5,700 was raised, more than a quarter of the cost to build a school. I will email you an update in the upcoming months of the progress. Hopefully you can continue to support other great programs by Saigon Children's Charity for the underprivileged children and help bring them out of poverty through education.

5 weeks ago I decided to subject myself to the most challenging and craziest thing I have ever done. I will participate in Laguna Langco Triathlon on March 29 in Hue, which is comprised of a 1.8km ocean swim, 62km bike and 12km run. It has been a roller coaster of excitement and fears, and a true test to me mentally and physically. The idea of quitting has crossed my mind many times. Just to give you a perspective, I am a "late bloomer" when it comes to endurance sports. I will be biting dusts and expect to finish under 6 hrs (seriously I don't know how the first guy finished in 2 hrs 28mins, he is not human!). With that said, my goal is to complete the race. I am writing to you and ask for your support to help me cross the finish line. Here is how. 

 

I am raising funds for a cause that I deeply care about. A lot of you living in Ho Chi Minh are familiar with NGO Saigon Children's Charity and the great works they have done so far, to provide disadvantage children education, training and development, and an opportunity to a better and independent life. Project 3E (educate, enrich, employ) is a partnership between SCC and ANZ, which works with local authorities to improve access and quality of education for 4,000 children in Long My, Hau Giang province in the Mekong Delta, an area of focus and needs serious help.
